Prairie Punk Farms is owned and operated by husband and wife Josh and Sam. We focus on sustainable, regenerative, and bio-diverse growing practices that are not only good for you; they are good for the planet, too.
We specialize in growing the hard way - no tractors, no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, just (wo)manpower and old fashioned techniques like companion planting, crop rotation, no-till, and good ol’ composting. It might be more work, but it is sustainable (environmentally AND financially).
We don’t believe in unregulated growth. We grow what we know the land can support, and hopefully what can support us.
Growing
Feeding
We sell a variety of vegetables, herbs, fruits, berries, and eggs*. You can find us at the Galesburg Farmers Market, seasonal events and festivals, or you can purchase a membership through our CSA program, which allows you to secure a share of our harvest throughout the growing season.
*Eggs must be purchased directly on the farm, per Illinois health department guidelines. Our eggs are unwashed, which means they can be kept at room temperature for up to two weeks.
Building
We strive to support and build community through nutrition. By collaborating with other urban farmers, Prairie Punk Farms hopes to work towards food independence. Together, we can revolutionize the food system by growing and preserving nutritious foods in our backyards, vacant lots, and even on our kitchen counters.
Although Prairie Punk Farms is a for-profit business, we donate produce to local non-profits when we can.
CSA Memberships Available for Purchase
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) memberships are the most direct way to support our farm, and our partner, Elementary Earthworks, LLC. This money goes directly towards operating costs for the farm; like seeds, tools, and other equipment.

Weekly membership that includes 22 weeks of fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruit. Great option for families or households with three or more people. Runs from May into October.
Weekly membership that includes 22 weeks of fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruit. Smaller amount each week than the full share. Great option for individuals or families that don’t go through vegetables quickly. Runs from May into October.
